PRIVACY PROTECTION
A European incubator for the capital of Europe
Innovating and modernising the legal profession
This Privacy Policy applies to the website at www.incubateurbxl.eu (the “Website”), owned and managed by the French-speaking Order of lawyers of the Brussels bar, having its registered office at the Courthouse, Place Poelaert, B-1000 Brussels, Belgium, registered with the Crossroads Bank of Enterprises under number 0248.012.766 (“OFBB”, “we”, “our”, “ours”). This Privacy Policy specifies the way in which the OFBB collects and uses information from users of the Website (“you”, “your”, “yours”), as well as the purposes of this collection and use. The OFBB undertakes to protect your privacy, to protect the information you provide, and use it only in accordance with the following provisions and with the legislation applicable to privacy protection and personal data.
This Privacy Policy may be subject to modification, and thus we invite you to check its content regularly.
CATEGORIES OF DATA PROCESSED – PURPOSE OF PROCESSING
The OFBB may process some personal data which concern you, such as your IP address and the operating system of the device accessing the website, for traffic analysis purposes. The legal basis for processing these personal data is the legitimate interest of the OFBB (that is, to improve user experience when accessing our Website). The OFBB keeps these personal data no longer than necessary, and will not process your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
In addition, we use cookies for technical, functional and analysis purposes, as described in more detail in the “Cookies” section below.
TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA
The OFBB may transfer your personal data to its co-contractors located in countries or territories guaranteeing a suitable level of protection, including for hosting purposes. Appropriate contractual steps will be taken to ensure the security of your personal data, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, as well as with the legislation applicable to privacy and data protection issues.
COOKIES
Cookies may be used on some pages of the Website to make them more user-friendly. A cookie is a small text file sent to your computer or other terminal device which contains data relating to you or your equipment, and stored on your hard disk or in the device’s memory. These cookies allow information to be stored for a specified period, and allow the user’s electronic device to be identified. When using our Website, cookies may be placed on your computer, mobile phone or other electronic device, to collect anonymised data and personal data relating to you, as described in this Privacy Policy.
When you visit our Website for the first time, the home page displays a message relating to data protection and a message concerning consent to the use of cookies, on a “banner” relating to the cookies. By continuing to use the Website actively, and if you do not specifically object to the use of cookies, you accept our use of cookies and your consent is stored in your browser, so that this message does not have to be repeated on each of the Website pages. If consent is not stored on your browser (if you delete cookies, for instance), the cookies “banner” with the relevant messages will appear again when you next visit the Website.
We may install and use some cookies which are technically essential, and therefore not subject to your prior consent. We may also use session cookies which are automatically deleted at the end of your session, and which are also not subject to your prior consent. Other cookies (such as those intended to improve your browsing experience by collecting particular data – avoiding you having to re-encrypt such data each time you connect – and adapting the content of the Website to your own preferences) may be installed and used, with your consent. You can delete or block these cookies at any time in your browser’s preferences, or in the advertising preferences of mobile applications. In this case, however, some functionalities of the Website requiring the use of technical cookies may be reduced or be no longer available.
The OFBB uses analytical cookies to gather general information about the way users use the Website, such as the pages most often visited, and if websites send them error messages. These cookies never collect data which could identify a user. Any information collected by this type of cookie is intended only to help better understand and improve the functionalities of the Website. We do not use advertising cookies.
The following table lists the internal cookies and the third-party cookies used by the OFBB on this Website:
SHARING ON SOCIAL MEDIA
We use social network extensions to allow you to share information contained on the Website with these social networks.
For privacy protection reasons, we have deliberately chosen not to use direct plug-in modules on our Website. We are using an alternative technical solution, which allows you to decide when and how you wish to transfer your data to social networks. So, when you visit the Website, the data are never automatically transferred to social media operators. Your browser connects to the social network only when you click actively yourself on the relevant button. By clicking on the items to share, and on the icon for the relevant social network, you are giving your consent to your browser’s connection to the servers of this social network, and to user data being sent to the operator of this social network, whether or not you are registered on the social network concerned.
We have no influence on the nature or extent of the data which the social networks may therefore collect. For information about the purposes and extent of the data collection, as well as how your data are processed and used by the social networks, and about the exercise of your rights and the relevant configuration parameters, please see the documentation on privacy protection for the social network concerned.
LINKS TO THIRD PARTY WEBSITES
The Website may contain hypertext links to other websites which are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We recommend you study the privacy protection policy applicable to these other websites. The OFBB takes no responsibility for the practices relating to privacy and data of these websites, and encourages you to study the privacy protection policies of each of these websites before disclosing any personal information to them.
YOUR RIGHTS AS THE DATA SUBJECT

You may also challenge the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes, as applicable, at any time, free of charge and without needing to provide any reason, following the above procedure.
In general, you also have the right to withdraw your consent to any processing of your data based on this consent (as applicable) at any time. Withdrawing consent does not compromise the legitimacy of the processing based on consent given prior to this withdrawal.
If you consider that the processing of your personal data constitutes a breach of the legislation applicable to the protection of personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a monitoring authority, particularly in the member State of the European Union of your normal place of residence, your place of work, or the place where the breach occurred.
